Key Responsibilities:
? Develops and maintains robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies.
? Pro-actively drive problem solving through Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) using Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) & Eaton Quality System (EQS) tools.
? Promotes culture of continuous improvement and understands lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer?s expectations.
? Implements methods and practices to reduce process variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
? Leads and participates in concurrent engineering efforts, critical design reviews, Design For Manufacturing and value engineering initiatives as growth opportunities.
? Leads and participates in new product development projects following ProLaunch.
? Acts as manufacturing liaison for products from inception through shipment to customer.
? Working with the operations teams in the composition of Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of equipment to support emerging and existing technologies as required.
? Working with the leadership team and others in performing work load analysis and resources optimisation. Extracts data from ERP systems as needed.
? Communicates vision of organization via verbal communication and actions.
? Manages multiple projects and delivers same on timely basis.
? Coordinates with multiple Manufacturing Engineers to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status information and action plans.
? At times may be asked to supervise and direct tasks of other Manufacturing Engineers including APEX reviews.
? Develops, implements, and audits complex process procedures/work instructions (in-house and within the Supplier Base), when required, to alleviate production/quality problems and to achieve overall business objectives.
? At times may be asked to work special assignments with minimal direct on-site supervision to ensure current plans and customer requirements are met.
Experience/Qualifications:
? Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques ? i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
? Thorough understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s)
? Proficiency in MS Office suite and various software applications ? CAD, Computer Aided Manufacturing, MiniTab etc..
? Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100 etc).
? Understanding of ProLaunch.
? Detailed knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools
? Knowledge of ELSS and EQS Tools
? Knowledge & understanding of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements.
? Knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts.
? Ability to Supervise and direct other departmental personnel.
? Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
? Project management skills which can be utilized to direct multiple organizations to accomplish specific tasks, possibly across plants, product lines and businesses.
? Qualified to Degree level or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering and associated Supervisory position.
